Mallorca: Shooting Our Bamboléo Collection

Earlier this season, we packed a suitcase full of linens, shells, and crochet and landed in Mallorca to shoot our second collection. We didn't know where we wanted to shoot it exactly, but once we arrived at our quiet little Airbnb perched just above Cala Pi, we knew this was the perfect place.

This collection was created with Spain in mind. The warmth, the texture, the palette. Earthy browns, terracotta, burnt orange and deep red mirror the tones of the landscape, while yellow linens and soft crochet speak to the ease of slow summer dressing. Cowrie shells nod to the coastlines, and the pop of colour in our new sarong brings together everything we love about summer - hibiscus flowers, sun motifs, shells and bright blues to remind us of the crystal clear beaches that dot Mallorca's coastline.

It was the kind of shoot where the location did most of the work for us; soft morning light, the sound of water just below, long breaks between looks to swim, rest, reset (and hide from the humidity). We met our beautiful models, Jasmin and Camila, in the morning on probably the hottest day of our entire trip. We were up for a challenge because we didn't speak Spanish but luckily Jasmin could somewhat translate for us. It ended up being a very fun morning and the laughter captured in the photos is genuine as Chelle would say "si" and "por favor" to everything the girls said to join in the conversations. The shoot was brought to life under the creative direction of Aimee, our co-founder, and her partner Carter who was capturing the moments on camera.

It wasn’t just about capturing the clothes - it was about capturing a feeling. One that’s slow, sun-warmed, and lived-in. We all dream about European summers - early swims, morning markets, long lunches, lazy beach afternoons, and the kind of feeling you get when exploring a new destination. Our goal was to create a wardrobe that made you think of those feelings when you wore them. It's a mix of what we love most about summer. Pieces you can throw on after the beach, dress up to wear to dinner, or keep in your suitcase for every trip. We’re excited to share it with you - not just the clothes, but the stories and scenes that shaped them.

Mallorca Travel Notes
If you’re planning your own trip, here’s a list of some of our favourite places from the week:

Beaches to visit:
  • Cala Pi - where we shot. Clear water, boat sheds to perch at and incredible views to wander.
  • Caló des Moro & Cala s'Almunia - small, stunning coves, only 5 minutes walk apart.
  • Cala Llombards - a local favourite. Good for swimming, tucked between cliffs.
  • Cala Figuera - not much of a swimming beach, but worth visiting for the fishing boats and rocky coastline.
  • Cala Deià - a small, pebbled cove surrounded by cliffs. Cold water and big views. Whilst here, eat at Ca’s Patró March. It’s built into the rocks, right over the sea - fresh seafood, beautiful setting. Book ahead or expect a long wait (but it’s worth it).
Towns to wander:
  • Deià - charming and quiet, with good food, art, and old stone buildings.
  • Sóller - surrounded by mountains, with a little tram that runs to the port. Great spot for a day trip.
  • Santanyí - our favourite for shopping and markets. The Santanyi markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday morning, this is the place to go for woven bags, baked goods, ceramics, handmade clothes, and all the best local finds. Go early if you want to beat the crowds and shop in the cooler hours. Most vendors prefer cash, and many close by 1-2 PM.

Sunset Spots:
  • Mirador Es Pontàs - Near Cala Santanyí, this natural rock arch in the sea is a stunning place to catch the sunset.
  • Cap de Formentor - The drive is winding, but the cliffs and views at the northern tip of the island are worth it. Sunset here is dramatic and less crowded than coastal beaches.
  • Sa Foradada - A cliffside bar and lookout near Deià. There’s often live music, and it’s one of the most beautiful places to watch the sun dip into the sea. Arrive early to get a table.
Local Tips:
  • Rent a small car - many of the best beaches and towns are off winding roads and narrow streets.
  • Siesta is real - between 2-5 PM, many shops and cafés close, especially in smaller towns.
  • Respect the beaches - bring a tote or basket and pack out whatever you bring in (many calas don’t have bins).
Mallorca gave us the backdrop, but it’s the colours, lifestyle, and memories we brought home that live on in this collection - a little piece of summer, wherever you are. We hope you love it!
